Privacy Policy
Effective August 13, 2026 · AisleAlly is operated by Probity Point Enterprises, LLC
The short version
AisleAlly has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Your
avoidance profile, pins, and scan history live only in your browser's
local storage on your device. Data leaves your device only to do the
thing you just asked for, and we keep as little of it as possible.
What stays on your device
- Your avoidance profile (selected ingredient classes and options)
- Pinned products and scan history
- Chef card language preference
- Transcriptions of labels or menus you photographed
None of this is sent to us or stored on our servers. Clearing your
browser data for this site erases it.
What leaves your device, and where it goes
-
Barcode lookups. The barcode number is sent to
Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central to fetch the product's
ingredient list. No personal information accompanies it.
-
Label and menu photos. Photos you take are sent
through our server to Anthropic's Claude API to read the text.
We do not store the photos; only the resulting transcription is
kept, and only on your device. Anthropic processes the image under
its own privacy terms.
-
Bot protection. Photo checks are protected by
Cloudflare Turnstile, which evaluates your browser session to tell
humans from bots. See the
Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
-
Feedback. If you use the feedback form, the
message you write and the email address you optionally provide are
stored so we can read the message and reply. They are used for
nothing else.
-
Tips. Tips are processed by Ko-fi and Stripe under
their own privacy policies. We never see or store your card
details.
What we don't do
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal information
- No advertising or ad networks
- No analytics, profiling, or cross-site tracking
- No accounts, so there is nothing to breach or reset
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps standard, short-lived
operational logs (such as request counts and IP-derived rate-limit
counters) to keep the service running and abuse-free. We do not use
them to identify you.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this
address with an updated effective date.
